Human Bondage

by mckavanaugh

You think Iím straight-laced bound by my religion
ĎCause I wonít love you like youíve come to know
Withhold your feelings - act with some indifference
Watch your frustration - see you turn to go
Donít look at me and think of human bondage
Why donít you take a really good look at yourself

Weíre holding hands - laughing just like lovers
You think inside - too bad, itís such a shame
I say I want you - not just now but forever
I say I want you but life ainít just playing games
Why do you see me and think of human bondage
When itís your thinking that puts us on the shelf

I go to church to learn about my freedom
You think I go to just be put in jail
I wish youíd tell me what youíre really thinking
Instead of saying that your answerís in the mail
Donít look at me and think of human bondage
Why donít you take a really good look at yourself
Donít talk to me or write of human bondage
Itís like a poor man trying to teach me wealth
